Smart TVs
Modern Samsung and LG televisions can install an IPTV app for TV directly from their own app store, and once installed it behaves like any other TV app. This is the route most of our customers take. Sets from roughly the last five years are usually fine; older models sometimes have an app store that no longer receives new titles, which is worth checking before you order.
Android TV and Google TV
These are the easiest platforms to work with, because the Play Store carries several well-maintained IPTV players. That applies to televisions with Android TV built in as well as to dongles and boxes running it. If you are buying hardware specifically for this, an Android TV device is the least troublesome choice.
Fire TV
Fire TV Sticks and Fire TV devices work well and are inexpensive, which makes them a common fix for an older television — plug one into a spare HDMI port and the TV's own limitations stop mattering. Install a compatible player from the Amazon Appstore on the device itself.
Phones and tablets
Android and iOS both have capable players. Phones are handy for watching away from home; tablets get used in kitchens and gardens more than people expect. Setup is the same three steps: install, enter details, watch.
TV boxes and set-top hardware
Android TV boxes and MAG-style set-top boxes are supported. These suit people who want a dedicated device for television rather than adding another app to a smart TV. If you are using set-top hardware, tell us the model when you order — the setup steps differ slightly and we will send the right instructions.
Where to get the app. Always install player applications from the official store on the device itself. We do not host application files, and we would advise against downloading IPTV player installers from links sent over messaging apps — that is a well-worn route for malware, and the app will not update properly afterwards. Compatibility, apps and connections.
Yes — a Smart TV is one of the most common ways people watch. Modern Samsung, LG, Android TV and Google TV sets can all install an IPTV player from their own app store, and once that player has your details it behaves much like any other TV app. If your television is older or its app store is limited, an inexpensive Android TV box or streaming stick plugged into an HDMI port achieves the same result. Broadly, anything that can run a modern IPTV player application: Smart TVs, Android TV and Google TV, Fire TV devices, Android and iOS phones and tablets, Android TV boxes, MAG-style set-top boxes, and computers through a desktop player. Our devices page lists the main categories. If you are unsure whether your specific model will work, send us the make and model before you order and we will tell you honestly.
Use the official app store on the device itself — the Samsung or LG store on a Smart TV, the Play Store on Android TV, the Amazon Appstore on Fire TV, or the App Store on iOS. Search for an IPTV player, install it, and open it once so it registers on the device. We then send you the details to enter. We deliberately do not host application files ourselves; installing player apps from their official stores is safer and keeps them updating properly. Our app download guide explains what to look for.
As a practical rule, around 15–25 Mbps gives a comfortable HD experience on one device, and more headroom helps if several people in the house stream at once or if you want higher-resolution playback. Consistency matters more than the headline number: a steady 20 Mbps behaves far better than a connection that spikes to 100 and then drops. Where possible, connect the television by Ethernet rather than Wi-Fi.
